A New Norwich Bar
After some well earned end of the week drinks in the Nelson and then Hahas my other half and i had a look around for somewhere to eat. We were initially going to go to Cafe Uno but we’d forgot the 20% off card. So off we rambled towards the direction of home. St Benedict’s Street is on the way which has developed into quite a funky area of the city now. We decided to go to Pinocchio’s in the end. We had a lovely meal there. More details to be added in another post i feel.
It was looking for a place to eat that we stumbled upon The Scullery Bar. After entering a tiny side door near the steps between the church and The Kitchen restaurant we were amazed to see a fantastic basement bar! After speaking to the barman we found it had only been open 3 days! It will continue to open Monday to Saturday from 5pm to 1am. There’s a cool selection beers and cocktails on offer and the relaxed decor with leather sofas is instantly relaxing.
Managed to get a flyer so i’ll add some info:
Mondays – Student Night with cheap drinks
Tuesday – Ladies Night (half price drinks for ladies between 8 and 10 pm)
Last Wednesday of every month ‘Comedy Night’
Live blues and jazz on Saturdays.
Shots: £1.25 / Doubles £2.00 / Cocktails £3.00
Contact the bar at: 01603 625777
This was a great find and we hope to go back soon. I can see this becoming very popular although i’m not quite it will gain Frank’s Bar cult status.

The Scullery was fantastic, I was always there. It was nice to see something a little different in Norwich. The atmosphere was really unique and will be missed. I don’t think the bike shop is a good replacement, it’s too pretentious, a real shame. But i hear the guy who set up the Scullery is setting up a new bar in town soon, I look forward to it

Yeah it was a cool little place. Things seem to come and go so quickly at the moment. Let me know about the new bar if you find out.
